Tallahassee and Cinema ~ #8

Another clip from the silver screen, this one is from the 1991 movie, Fried Green Tomatoes. This movie is a story within a story and the inner story stars Mary Stuart Masterson and Mary-Louise Parker as Idgie Threadgoode and Ruth Jamison respectively, co-owners of the Whistle Stop Café which serves great bar-b-que and, well, green tomatoes of the fried variety. The movie is based on the book by Fannie Flagg. In the middle of the movie, as the audience is being introduced to the restaurant around which the 2nd half of the movie revolves, a train passes by. The name on the side of the train as it goes steaming by is “Tallahassee and Albany,” a fictitious rail company…
